Irish landscape oil painting | Clear waters, Carrick-a-Rede | Polly Gribben

The walk to Carrick-a-rede island and rope bridge is along a stunning part of our north coast.  The limestone cliffs and aqua seas are a favourite to paint.  This view is looking across to Rathlin island with the sheltered bay of Carrick-a-Rede island.  The fisherman's cottage is just out of view but this is where the Atlantic salmon would have been fished since 1620.  The history makes this place special, as well as the tranquility of the waters, broken only by a boat full of adventure seekers having a cold water swim in the clear waters!
